The University Star is the official student newspaper of Texas State University. Established as one of the longest-standing student publications in the state, The Star has maintained a consistent presence spanning historical events including the Great Depression, both World Wars, the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, and the Gulf Wars. Notably, Lyndon Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, served as the summer editor of The Star in 1930.
